Do you know the lifetime of your PV inverter?

ASIG has over 17 years experience of failure analysis of electrical devices and components.

We do lifetime analysis of IT-Products, home entertainment and other industrial applications since 1993.

ASIG developed unique analyse tools to get practice-oriented lifetime and reliability results of the electrical products.

Basically there are some ways to calculate the theoretical or practical lifetime data.

The industrial area uses theoretical models, by using the FIT values of the components to get the theoretically MTBF (Meantime between failures).  Such model are not practice-oriented and mostly far away from the real lifetime.

Another possibility is the Highly Accelerated Life Test (HALT) which is a stress testing methodology for accelerating product reliability during the engineering development process. However such acceleration has also limitations and it takes years for products with a high specified lifetime.

This is not what our customer wants!

Our customers require clear statements about the blocking points and the lifetime of their products in a very short time.  Therefore ASIG developed already 17 years ago unique analysis tools which gives our customers useable and reasonable results of their products in a short time.

We offer following tests for PV inverters:

1.   Lifetime and Reliability analysis of power inverters
We test on component level based on temperatures, voltages, current and power measurements the lifetime of the products.
As a result you will get the practical lifetime based on the weakest components. Test is under normal and worst case conditions regarding environmental temperatures.

2.   MPPT (Maximum power point tracking) analysis and efficiency analysis
Measurement of 2500 conditions of input voltages/current versus output power in different environmental conditions.
As a result you will get the practical function of the MPPT and limiting factors of the efficiency in real applications.

3.   MTBF (Mean time between failures) calculation based on Telcordia standard for electronic equipment.
As a result you will get the average annual defect rate in the field during the lifetime of the product.

4.   In addition together with our mothercompany VDE we can offer all legal testing for safety and EMC standards and in combination with a noise measurement and the standardized efficiency we can also offer the VDE Quality Mark on the products.
